It all started in 1989 with material off-cuts from factories that were turned into colourful tracksuits for the founder’s sons. With a background in sport science and two very active boys, it was natural to evolve into the manufacturing of clothes for sport and outdoor.

What started as a small home industry grew into Farbe, a mid-sized clothing manufacturer situated in Stellenbosch with 60 staff members. Farbe is solution-driven and our core focus is to manufacture customised apparel in a short turnaround time. Our promise is quality products with a longer lifecycle, delivered on-time and in full.

Farbe is the German word for colour. The name links to those very first multi-coloured tracksuits. We are proud to be part of the rainbow nation of South Africa and make a difference through local manufacturing.
